Well. I'm sure that that shining pearl that it's holding has no relevance at all to the plot. Nope. Not at all.

But in seriousness, love that we see the 3 viewpoints on "useless items" present in RPG's; "It's useless", "It's not even worthy as vendor trash", and "Take anything that isn't nailed down, and if it is, take the nails as well, since you might just need it".

Still, Great page.

Nothing is EVER useless... unless it's a level 100 Magikarp.

You could always chuck it at someone. Bet it'd leave a pretty nasty bruise, lol. But I'm thinking there's something else to it...can't wait to see!
Take it, Cal and let us know!

@Novanto: I doubt you've ever seen the playthrough of someone beating Red/Blue with a Lv. 100 Magikarp.
I'd side with Caldwell on it...though it's hilarious to see everyone so disappointed, after all their hard work.

Oh come on team, dont judge a book by it's cover, even more if it's locked in a super important chest warded by a giant rock spider who 5 min ago almost eats you alive!

At least take it to an expert before leaving it to rot there xD

@Arc Impulse: I believe that when I see it. Until then, four words: "Grass type" and "Electric type".

I agree raaabr and TheGreenOne.
Yes, better take anything that might be of any use later even if it is not obvious now, as long as it is portable and the weight/space limit on the whole group isn't exceeded. You can always sort out the junk later.
Besides, as Caldwell has demonstrated before the dungeon run, even the monster parts can be of use. I was a bit surprised he din't collect those. Is there any reason he couldn't do the same while in the dungeon?

@Eldoran: He probably was too focused on getting out alive and wasnt thinking much on geting profit later... That's my guess.

And yeah, it's not like they're going to find anything more, if I were there I'd keep it even if it's total garbage as a token of my first successful dungeon!

Like I said in a more previous comic a while back I'm still sure that gem in the statues hands is the real prize... but what might it be... its not a first class dungeon so my guess is its a medium value magic crystal.

But as I look closer its all shiny now... so why didn't Sophia jump at taking it? I would have just smashed the statue and taken the little sphere.

@Angelz_Blaze: This is more of an art style thing; I showed the gem as sparkling in the middle panel so it was clear that there was a gem there and not just a rounded part of the stone statue.
